Bruce and Jane Collins, both 95 years old, will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary on March 14.

“They got married at her parents’ house on Cedar Street,” said Dave Collins, their son. “They built a house on Cooper Lane and Cedar Street right after they got married. They live there still.”

Mr. Collins was the superintendent of public works for East Hampton Village, but was also a town supervisor, councilman, and the town highway superintendent. This, after he retired from the fishing industry. “When he was done with politics, he worked for the family business.”

The family business, Collins Fuel, was run by Mrs. Collins, a 12th-generation Bennett.

The couple, who began dating in high school, had three children, Dave, who lives in East Hampton and, taking after his father, is the village’s superintendent of public works; Bruce Collins Jr., who lives in Fort Worth, Tex., and Leslie Curles, who is deceased.
