The fourth annual Magic of Montauk Holiday Fair, complete with Santa Claus, live reindeer, a hot cocoa contest, live music, and, for the first time, a holiday train, happens on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. on the downtown green.

Lighting the Christmas Joy, a holiday decoration company, is to transform the green into a winter wonderland, with a lighted holiday path. Visitors can have their photo taken with reindeer, and children will be able to share their gift lists with Santa. A range of holiday gift vendors will be on hand, and the fair will also offer children’s activities, festive treats, food trucks, and beer and wine. Downtown businesses, competing in an annual contest, are transformed with decorations.

“This holiday fair has continued to grow each year since we started,” Jessica Dye, executive director of the hamlet’s chamber of commerce and Visit Montauk, said in a statement. “We have been thrilled to see that this has become a staple event not only for local residents but those throughout Long Island.” C.W.
