South Fork Lacrosse celebrated its seven East Hampton High School seniors on their home field on Friday, announcing each one and presenting roses to their parents in a pregame ceremony before a hard-fought 6-5 loss to Half Hollow Hills.

Theo Ball, a defenseman and three-year varsity player, is heading to the University of Southern California. James Corwin, an attack, two-year captain, and three-year varsity player, will play lacrosse at Vassar College in the fall. Pema Edwards, a faceoff specialist and midfielder who has been with the varsity team for two years, will attend the University of Michigan.

Manny Morales, a defensive midfielder and two-year varsity player, is off to the University of Oklahoma. Jake Rivera, a midfielder and first-year varsity player, will attend the University of Tennessee. Tyler Rodgers, an attack and two-year varsity player, is going to the University of Mississippi. James Smith, a defenseman and first-year varsity player, will attend the University of Alabama.

While they lost their senior night game, it was a strong performance against a powerhouse. Corwin, Zane Karoussos, Rodgers, Michael Single, and Brayden Talmage each scored a goal. Karoussos, Single, and Talmage each had two assists, and Oliver Edson, the goalie, made nine saves.

After the game, Half Hollow Hills improved to fourth in Division 1 with a record of 9-4 over all and 9-2 in the conference. South Fork dropped to 10th in the division at 5-7 over all and 5-5 in conference play. If South Fork can hold its position, it will qualify for the playoffs; the top 10 teams in Division 1 advance.
