Harassing and Menacing Downtown

Thu, 07/02/2026 - 12:52

A Manhattan man has been harassing and menacing people on the streets of East Hampton Village.

Last Thursday, village police began receiving calls about the man, who was said to be bothering people at Hampton Chutney for several hours. Police told him he had to leave the premises and was not welcome back.

Later that day, the same man was seen pushing a shopping cart through the village while yelling profanities. He told police he was headed to Fierro’s Pizza. Police told him to quiet down.

Another call then came in from a woman who said the man had exposed himself in the alley between the Blue Parrot and Main Street. This time, he told officers that his towel had shifted while he sat on a bench, exposing his genitals. The woman declined to press charges.

Later that night, an employee of Cittanuova told police the man was harassing customers there. He was told to leave the restaurant and not return.

On Friday, a Montauk man told police that the man, who he said was wrapped in a towel while riding a bike, was menacing people at the train station. The Montauk man said the two had had an argument before police arrived.

The man causing all the trouble was found to have a warrant out in Nassau County for his arrest, but officials there are said to have declined to pick him up. Local police have not charged him with a crime.
