Charged After Tailgating

Thu, 06/11/2026 - 11:17

A Flanders woman was charged Friday night, on Springs-Fireplace Road near Queens Lane in East Hampton, with a felony count of driving while intoxicated.

At around midnight, town police reported seeing Bianca Elizabeth Spano, 32, following another car too closely and crossing over the white fog line. Police said she smelled of alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests before being arrested.

Because Ms. Spano was convicted of driving while ability impaired by both drugs and alcohol in 2024, the charge against her rose to the felony level. She was held for the rest of the night and appeared in court the next morning, where Justice Steven Tekulsky released her on her own recognizance to await a future court date.
