Two Bicyclists Hurt

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 08:18

Two bicyclists were injured on local roads last Thursday in separate incidents.

That evening, Jesse Price of East Hampton, 49, was taken to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital after his bike collided with a truck on Old Stone Highway in Amagansett. Town police said Mr. Price was riding south as the pickup, driven by Dennis T. Moore of East Hampton, 33, was turning left from Old Stone onto Neck Path.

Mr. Moore told police he didn’t see the bicyclist, who sustained bruises to his leg. Mr. Moore, who was not hurt, was ticketed for driving an unregistered vehicle.

On Montauk Highway that same day, an eastbound bicyclist collided with the side door of a Jeep. Police said the cyclist, Lenin Peralta-Biznay of East Hampton, 27, had failed to yield the right of way to the driver, Mary Emerson Stufano of Bronxville, N.Y., who was heading through the Cross Highway intersection.

Mr. Peralta-Biznay complained of pain in his left leg, right knee, and left hand but refused medical attention.
