A Brooklyn woman who came here to visit a friend for the weekend instead spent the weekend in jail after East Hampton Village police recovered a large number of items stolen from the Ralph Lauren Double RL clothing store on Main Street and arrested the woman they say stole them all.

Ruth Pamela Guzman Rosario, 21, of Williamsburg, is facing felony-level charges for what police described as “a brazen break-in” last Thursday night. Store employees arrived on Friday morning to find the front door broken and merchandise missing.

Police said that after a short investigation, they were able to track Guzman Rosario, 21, of Williamsburg, who was staying with friends, to a second-story apartment on Newtown Lane.

She fled out a second-story window onto a neighboring roof when confronted, but police deployed a drone to the area and were able to track her movements. When she returned to the apartment, she was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief, grand larceny -- the stolen merchandise was valued at $21,250 -- and criminal possession of stolen property, all third-degree offenses at the felony level.

She was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon and obstructing governmental administration, both misdemeanors. She was arraigned on Saturday morning by Town Justice Steven Tekulsky, who remanded her to the county jail in Riverside, where she remains as of publication.

If convicted on all counts, Ms. Guzman Rosario could face up to 18 years in prison and as much as $15,000 in fines.
