Eight teenagers involved in a fight at Smokey Buns were taken home by their parents on Friday night. The teens had been at the movie theater, according to police, and went to the restaurant afterward in two groups, one of which confronted the other and a fight broke out. One boy told officers that he and his friends had been targeted by the other group after he and his girlfriend split up. In an otherwise heavily redacted report, police noted that no one was injured in the fracas.

A disturbance at Bank of America brought four officers to the Newtown Lane branch on Friday. Police said a man had been yelling and using “profane language.” After being escorted out, he told police he needed to get back to Hampton Bays. They helped him get to the train station.

On Friday an employee of Tenet, a Newtown Lane shop, told police a woman had bought a $400 pair of shoes and then disputed the charge with her credit card company, which reversed it. The employee said the shoes would have to be returned, as they had not been paid for. The woman returned the shoes, but they had been worn, prompting the store to request payment again. According to the report, the woman’s parents have paid for the shoes.
