A Montauk man riding an electric bike at 3 a.m. on July 6 was injured after crashing into a parked car.
Police said Martin Ebrard, 21, slammed into the back of a Porsche parked by the side of Edgemere Road near Industrial Road at a “high rate of speed.”
Mr. Ebrard reportedly sustained multiple deep lacerations to his right hand that required stitches. He was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. Police subsequently charged him with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and released him on his own recognizance.
A Bronx man was hospitalized last Thursday afternoon after a truck rear-ended his vehicle on Pantigo Road in East Hampton.
Eduardo Ramos Valera, 33, was driving west that day when the truck behind him, which town police said was traveling too closely, crashed into the back of his car. The truck driver, Francisco Montano Lithgow, 35, also of the Bronx, told police that Mr. Valera had been slowing down for traffic when it happened.
Neither Mr. Lithgow nor his passenger was injured, but Mr. Valera complained of neck pain and was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. His sedan was towed from the scene.
