Charged in May Burglary at Bostwick’s

Fri, 02/06/2026 - 22:09

A man police allege broke into Bostwick's Chowder House on Pantigo Road in May was charged with burglary in the third degree early on Friday.

Greg King, 48, of East Quogue turned himself in to East Hampton Town police at 6 a.m. According to a Police Department release, Mr. King broke into the restaurant on the morning of May 25 last year. He allegedly took a safe that contained cash, although the amount was not disclosed. Police said they had considered Mr. King as a suspect before he turned himself in.

Mr. King was arraigned virtually Friday morning at East Hampton Town Justice Court, where was returned to police custody for possible remanding to the Suffolk County jail in Riverside. The felony charge carries a maximum seven-year prison term if he is convicted.

It is unclear at this time whether the burglary is connected to a burglary of Bostwick's Chowder House on Labor Day weekend of 2020.

This is a developing story.
