Thu, 05/29/2025 - 09:53

Kevin Weiss of East Hampton, 24, faces two weapons-related felony charges following his arrest a little after 3 a.m. on Friday. After a traffic stop at the intersection of Main Street and Park Place in the village, East Hampton Town police reported finding him in possession of  a “loaded .45-caliber handgun with a large quantity of ammunition.”

In a press release issued later that day, police said they pulled over a 2011 Cadillac CTS, in which Mr. Weiss was a passenger, after witnessing “multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.”

Mr. Weiss was said to have been found not only with the loaded gun, but also with a “large-capacity ammunition-feeding device,” described as a special magazine that can hold extra rounds of ammunition.

Besides the two felony charges, both involving criminal possession of a weapon, Mr. Weiss faces a misdemeanor charge of unlawful dealing with a child. Earlier that morning, police said, he purchased an alcoholic drink, a Four Loko, from a convenience store, and gave it to a person younger than 21.

He appeared in Town Justice Court later that morning before Justice Steven Tekulsky, who remanded him to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department. He is due back in court for a June 4 arraignment.
