Thu, 02/27/2025 - 10:53

Police spotted a headlight out on Kevin Ricardo Montano’s 2026 Chevy van Friday night, and pulled him over on Montauk Highway near Cove Hollow Road in East Hampton. The East Hampton resident, 24, ended up charged with possession of both cocaine and fentanyl.

According to the official report, Mr. Montano presented the officer with false identification, and upon further investigation was allegedly found to be driving with a revoked license.

Police said they found 53 grams of a white substance in his possession, and used a “presumptive kit” to field-test it. It reportedly tested positive, and both substances were then taken to a county crime lab for confirmation and further analysis.

Charged with two class-B felonies, Mr. Montano was arraigned virtually on Saturday morning by East Hampton Town Justice David L. Filer. He was additionally charged with two misdemeanors, one for false personation and the other for aggravated unlicensed operation.

After the arraignment he was given supervised release, and is to return to court on Wednesday.
