Amagansett

On Pintail Lane, a man called police about two hunters with firearms near his property on Sunday morning. Police found the hunters, who did not have firearms, and they told police that they had arrived in the dark and did not see how close they were to the property line. Police let them go.

A woman arrived at Amagansett Equestrian around noon on Dec. 2 to check on her belongings, only to find them gone. In 2019, she’d left her horse and belongings under the care of the manager, who, five years later, no longer worked there. Her horse had also been leaving the property, she said. The resolution to her complaint was redacted by police.

East Hampton

A box with two vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana arrived at the doorstep of an Osborne Lane man, he reported on Nov. 30. After he opened it and saw what was inside, he called police, who documented the incident.

Montauk

A West Lake Drive woman reported her Facebook account hacked on the morning of Dec. 16, police said this week. Posing as the woman, someone had been trying to sell items, including a $500 vehicle, four weeks earlier. The woman was unable to establish contact with Facebook. Police filed a report of identity theft.

A Fernald Road woman reported two suspected scams on the afternoon of Dec. 19, according to police. First, an unknown person tried to withdraw a total of almost $1,300 from her bank account. Second, someone purporting to be from Medicaid called asking for personal information. Police asked her to contact them if it happens again.

Springs

An Eighth Street man reported an unwanted guest around midnight on Jan. 21. The man had been in a verbal altercation with the guest, who appeared to be intoxicated, because the guest would not leave. Police gave the intoxicated man a ride home.

On Springs-Fireplace Road, a man flagged down an officer around midnight two days later, as he had been receiving threatening messages on Snapchat. Police contacted the mother of the person sending the messages. Eventually, all parties agreed to stop communication.

After an incident in which a landlord reportedly punched and choked his tenant for a period of 10 minutes on Abraham’s Path on the night of Jan. 12, the tenant walked into the Pantigo Road police substation to report it. While police did not report the resolution, the tenant did say he wished to file a report in case it happens again.

Wainscott

A New Jersey bank contacted a Sandown Court man on the afternoon of Dec. 6 after someone came into the bank with his personal information asking to withdraw $2,380. When the teller asked for more information, the man left and did not return. Police filed an identity theft report.

Bicyclist Injured While Questioning Driver

Sag Harbor Village police were flagged down by a bicyclist after an S.U.V. forced him out of his lane, and he then tried to get the driver to pull over.
