E-Biker Injured in Collision

A 70-year-old man from the Bronx was seriously injured in an e-bike accident in Montauk late Tuesday afternoon.

Felix Antonio Estevez-Rodriguez was riding west on Montauk Highway, according to East Hampton Town police, when a 2017 Toyota RAV 4 approaching from the opposite direction turned left — failing to yield the right of way — onto Carl Fisher Plaza, colliding with the e-bike in the intersection.

The driver, Alice Zosa of Montauk, 75, remained at the scene and was “fully cooperative with investigators.” Police issued a press release Tuesday night stating that no criminality is suspected.

Mr. Estevez-Rodriguez reportedly sustained “serious injuries” and was treated by members of the Montauk Fire Department at the scene before being airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident, and have urged anyone who may have witnessed it to call 631-537-7575.
