East Hampton

A Jackson Street woman reported an unknown man riding a bicycle back and forth near her house at around noon on Nov. 12. Police arrived and determined that the cyclist was a friend of a nearby tenant.

East Hampton Village

Police went to a Gingerbread Lane residence on the evening of Nov. 13 after a caller reported that a woman who’d arrived to pick up her children appeared drunk. The caller was advised to contacted the ex-husband of the apparently intoxicated woman, and he picked up the children in her stead.

Montauk

Police escorted a “highly intoxicated” woman out of Shagwong at midnight on Sunday. The woman said she didn’t have anywhere to stay and would take the Hampton Jitney back to New York City.

Officers ticketed a man for having an uncontained beach fire near the Royal Atlantic Resort on the evening of Nov. 9.

Northwest Harbor

A Three Mile Harbor Drive resident reported an online dating scam on the afternoon of Nov. 16. Somehow, said the 80-year-old man, a person on the dating platform had gotten his phone number and demanded $2,000 from him, threatening to tell his family he was using the site if he did not comply. Police told the man to block the number.

Sag Harbor

Police arrived at the Gulf station on the morning of Nov. 12 after a report of a dispute there. The caller said a man had been drinking outside the convenience store for the past hour, had come inside to buy more beer, and had then refused to leave. Police saw him out and on his way to his nearby residence.

Later that day, police were called to Geekhampton after a man with two poodles in tow began yelling at employees about a broken phone screen. He was still yelling when police arrived and advised him to leave if he didn’t like the service.

A Joel’s Lane man walked into police headquarters on Sunday morning to report his Segway Ninebot Max G30LP scooter missing. He’d last seen it on Oct. 29, he said, before he left to go to the city. When he returned, the scooter was missing. An investigation is ongoing.

Desperate for the T-Shirt

A 75-year-old New York City woman was arrested by East Hampton Village police on Tuesday afternoon and charged with assault in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, after police identified her as the person who they said had “grabbed” and “bitten” the arm of a 7-year-old child while trying to retrieve a T-shirt tossed from the pavilion balcony during an Aug. 12 concert at Main Beach.

Legal Aid Declines Her Case

Nicoly Ribeiro De Souza, the 23-year-old accused of driving under the influence into the Montauk Artists Association Art Show early on the morning of June 29 and causing $100,000 worth of damage, was ordered Wednesday by East Hampton Town Justice Steven Tekulsky to retain private counsel before her next appearance in Justice Court.
