East Hampton Village

A man wound up in a fight on a beach near Highway Behind the Pond on Sept. 30 after his dog strayed away to accost another man’s dog. That man kicked sand on the dog, and its owner asked if that was “really necessary.” The second man then punched him in the face twice, he told police, and the pair fell to the ground, where another beachgoer broke up the scuffle. Police gave the first man an ice pack; the second man fled east along the beach.

Montauk

Police warned a man about fishing without a license on the morning of Oct. 1, but later that day, they found him and a friend fishing near the pier on Navy Road. The two, who had one undersize porgy, were ticketed for the undersize fish and for unlicensed fishing.

Sag Harbor

Police responded to the scene of a fight on Long Wharf on Sept. 30. A man said he’d been shopping when “someone walked into the shop and screamed at him.” When he left the shop, he found the other man waiting by his car and wound up with a punch in the face. The shopper did not wish to make a statement to police, but did allow photographs to be taken
of his injuries.

Police documented an incident of a woman fleeing from her $19.55 bill for a glass of wine at Vin Sur Vingt Bistro on Sunday night.
