Thu, 04/21/2022 - 10:02

Nancy Horvath, 75, of Kunkletown, Pa., was westbound on Montauk Highway in Amagansett near Cranberry Hole Road late last Thursday night when she dozed off. Her 2001 Subaru left the road and crashed into a utility pole.

When an East Hampton Town police officer checked her license, he found she had been reported missing, and that she has Alzheimer’s disease. A witness, Sarah Everson, told police she had seen the Subaru “just drift off the road.”

Ms. Horvath injured her lower arm in the accident and complained of pain. She was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for treatment. The Subaru was towed by Bonac Buy and Sell.
