A man wearing a ski mask, dark-colored jacket, white sweater with a dark stripe, and dark pants robbed an East Hampton store on Wednesday at about 5 p.m., town police have reported.

Displaying what appeared to be a weapon, the man demanded cash from a clerk at Montoya Communications on Springs-Fireplace Road, East Hampton Town police said late Wednesday.

The clerk complied and the robber fled with an unspecified amount of cash, driving north on Old Fireplace Road in a light gray pickup truck.

Town detectives are investigating the robbery and have asked anyone with information to call 631-537-7575. Calls will be kept confidential.

It Was S.U.V. on S.U.V.

On June 23, a Subaru S.U.V. rear-ended a Toyota S.U.V. at Carl Fisher Plaza in Montauk. That evening, two other S.U.V.s collided in Wainscott and had to be towed away. And more news of the roads.
