Police Say Woman Bit Victim’s Tongue

Thu, 08/13/2020 - 10:14

Lourdes Maritza Alban of East Hampton, 42, was charged on Sunday with third-degree assault after East Hampton Town police said she “forcefully bit down on the tongue” of an unidentified victim, “causing a deep laceration, substantial pain, and bleeding.” The person required immediate medical attention for the injury.

Ms. Alban was held overnight. On Monday morning she appeared before Town Justice Steven Tekulsky, who issued an order of protection for the victim, instructing Ms. Alban to keep her distance. She was released on her own recognizance and will return to court tomorrow.

East Hampton Village police arrested Sean Mahoney of New York City, 57, on Briar Patch Road Aug. 3 on a charge of assault, after a Southampton Hospital nurse reported that a patient had been attacked. A redacted report said Mr. Mahoney had punched the victim. He was arraigned later that day and released on his own recognizance with a date to be back in court.

On Sunday afternoon, village police stopped Michael Kandhorov of Forest Hills, 37, at the Main Street-Newtown Lane intersection, saying his 2018 Porsche had made an illegal U-turn at Pantigo Road and North Main Street. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree after a computer check showed that his license had been revoked earlier this year for failure to pay state taxes. He is to appear in court on Aug. 26.

Derlis Solano of Hampton Bays, 30, was also charged with unlicensed operation, after town police stopped his 2018 Ford on Stephen Hand’s Path near Buckskill Road on Friday morning. He too has a court date of Aug. 26.

In Montauk on Saturday morning, police pulled over a 2000 Ford van on Route 27 near South Essex Street and charged its driver, Joshua Ferrara of Manorville, 35, with operating with a suspended registration. He will answer the charge in court on Aug. 26.

On the afternoon of Aug. 2, town police also charged Oscar Malan-Tenea of East Hampton, 26, with failure to produce proper documentation, in his case a driver’s license, after stopping his 2017 Mercedes-Benz on Floyd Street in East Hampton. He answered the charge in town court yesterday.

Finally, in Sag Harbor on Monday morning, Jose Chimborazo of East Hampton, 62, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet van east on Jermain Avenue when Sag Harbor Village police clocked him at 36 miles per hour in a 20-m.p.h. zone. A record check showed his driving privileges had been suspended in 2018 for failure to pay a fine, police said, and he is scheduled to be in Sag Harbor court on Friday, Aug. 21, with Justice Lisa R. Rana presiding.
