A Driver's Doubly Bad Day

Wed, 12/30/2020 - 09:23

When East Hampton Town police responded last week to a minor rear-ender accident on Montauk Highway by Buckskill Road, they found that Johnny Rojas Orellana of East Hampton, whose car was hit, had been driving without a license. He will appear in court on Jan. 6.

Elsewhere on local roads, deer who were not so lucky as to be pulling sleighs caused problems for drivers. One was hit at 5 a.m. on Dec. 21, on Route 114 near Red Fox Lane. Over the next few days, cars and deer met up at midnight on Main Street near Dayton Lane in East Hampton Village, on Montauk Highway near Hampton Place at 5 p.m., and on Napeague on Christmas Day at 11 a.m., near Dolphin Drive.
