Suffolk Homicide Squad Investigating Riverhead Death

Thu, 11/12/2020 - 14:03

The Suffolk County Police Department on Thursday announced that its Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a vehicle in Riverhead Wednesday night at 7:40 on Roanoke Avenue, south of Green Tree Drive.

A 911 call reporting an abandoned car led police to discover the body of Marco Grisales, 39, whose last known address was in Sag Harbor. The Homicide Squad determined he had suffered head injuries, Commissioner Geraldine Hart said in a press release.

Chief Austin J. McGuire of Sag Harbor Village Police said Mr. Grisales was once a resident of Sag Harbor, but had not lived there for some time. The address where his car had been registered was vacant "or in foreclosure for some time."

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the case to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.
