She Was 12 Years Old

Thu, 05/23/2019 - 06:39

East Hampton Town police arrested a town resident earlier this month on charges relating to a series of contacts of a sexual nature with a 12-year-old girl. The alleged incidents occurred in 2011, and because of the girl’s age at the time, authorities have withheld her name.

Pablo E. Carreno-Dutan, now 25, was charged with one felony and two misdemeanors on June 8. Once the girl turned 13, the charges were classified as misdemeanors.

The sexual relationship ended late in 2011, when, according to the redacted court file, the girl objected. She kept the secret to herself until recently, when the subject came up with a friend, who encouraged her to come forward.

Bail was set June 9 at $5,000, which was posted.
