The Peter Matthiessen Center and Now Voyager magazine will host a book talk and a celebration of the magazine at the Southampton Arts Center on Tuesday.

Starting at 4 p.m., Nicolas Niarchos, a journalist and co-founder of Now Voyager, will read from and discuss his new book, “The Elements of Power: A Story of War, Technology, and the Dirtiest Supply Chain on Earth,” which traces the global supply chains behind the metals powering the clean energy transmission. After the talk, Niarchos will take questions and sign copies.

At 5:30, Now Voyager, a bimonthly print magazine launched in March, will afford attendees an opportunity to meet its founders, Helene Werner and Niarchos, and contributing journalists — Carolyn Kormann, Conor O’Neil, and Jack Evans — over locally sourced wines and hors d’oeuvres in the museum’s sculpture garden. Copies of the first three issues will be available.

Admission is free to both, but reservations are required by emailing [email protected].

The Peter Matthiessen Center “promotes innovative thinkers, writers, and activists who champion the natural world and the existential connection between nature and the human spirit and our own survival,” according to its website.

The rain date is Wednesday.
