A Flanders resident told police on Sept. 25 that $22,000 was stolen from her former house on Morris Park Lane two years ago by a former boyfriend. Carmen R. Yamba-Tenezaca explained that she had waited to report the November 2015 incident because he had agreed to pay her back and she had gotten an order of protection against him.

Landscaping power equipment was stolen from Laura and Victor Orellana’s truck on Warwick Road between Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. and Sept. 27 at 7:30 a.m. A RedMax 8500 Blower, a RedMax 7500 Blower, an Echo weed wacker, a RexMax hedge trimmer, and a Stihl chain saw, together valued at $1,700 were taken from the back seat of the vehicle. The couple said they had not heard anything unusual overnight.

Called to Egypt Beach on the evening of Sept. 25 at about 5:45 p.m., an officer saw a small seal pup on the beach go back into the surf. The officer noted in his report that the pup “appeared exhausted from the rough water.” He contacted the Riverhead Foundation.

A Coca-Cola tractor-trailer broke off part of a tree when the driver parked on the north side of Gay Lane on the afternoon of Sept. 26, hitting a low-hanging branch. Police said the broken branch was a hazard for pedestrians and motorists, and the Department of Public Works was called to cut it down. The trailer sustained no damage.

A 16-year-old boy’s mountain bicycle was taken from outside the Y.M.C.A. East Hampton RECenter on Sept. 26 between 3 and 4 p.m. The bike, which had not been locked, was valued at $600.

A 43-year-old homeless man was found sleeping in the bushes in Herrick Park, near the back of the Stop and Shop supermarket, on Sept. 27 at about 12:20 p.m. A sergeant on foot patrol noticed a small camp set up in the bushes. The man said he had been there since about 10 the night before. He was told he could no longer stay there. Sleeping and loitering are a violation of the village code, and he was given a summons.

While an East Quogue man was surfing off Main Beach on Sept. 25 between 6 and 6:30 a.m., someone took his iPhone 7 from his vehicle. He had left the phone charging between the driver’s seat and center console, but it was gone when he returned. He filed a report on Wednesday.

The front license plate, which had a Southampton Town beach-driving permit on it, went missing from a Jeep Wrangler parked in the Reutershan lot on the afternoon of Sept. 26. The case was turned over to detectives.

Police were called to meet the train at the East Hampton station on Sunday at about 11:40 p.m. after two teenage girls failed to pay the fare when they got on in Hampton Bays. The officers spoke with the girls and their guardian, who was waiting to pick them up at the station. The guardian paid the fare for both.

A motorcycle was found abandoned in the ocean surf just east of the East Hampton-Southampton town line on Sept. 25 at about 8 a.m. A passer-by pulled the 2013 Yamaha out of the water, but police said it was totaled by seawater damage.
