Someone let out the air from all four tires of a 2004 Ford van parked in the Oakview Highway trailer park by removing inner pins in the valve stems. Eduardo Peralta discovered the vandalism on the morning of April 3.

East Hampton Village

Police received a call reporting that one of the Town Pond swans was dead. An officer went there, and found the swans alive and well.

Apple Bank employees at the Montauk Highway branch called police last Thursday, nervous about a white Equinox that kept entering and leaving the bank’s parking lot. When police arrived, the car was gone. They told the manager to call if it returned.

Montauk

The rear window of a 2013 Toyota Prius parked outside a Freemont Road residence was shattered on April 5 and the next morning, Tracy Stolloff reported. Another resident at the same address, Christopher Winkler, called police last Thursday night, reporting that the 75-foot power cord to his boat at the town dock had been cut. Police are investigating the two incidents.

A landscaper working on a Surfside Avenue property contacted police after finding a window of the residence shattered, apparently by a rock. In addition, James Lagarenne saw that the screen door to the basement had been damaged, and was open. It did not appear that anyone had entered the house. Repairs were estimated at about $500.

A blue Electra bicycle belonging to Nicole Meehan was stolen from outside Gringo’s Burritos Grill on Main Street at the beginning of the month. The bicycle has a black basket, and was valued at $600.

Sag Harbor

A customer at the bar of the American Hotel reported that her iPhone 6 in its case was stolen the evening of April 5. Rolice Spink told police she had plugged it in to charge it while she was there, and walked away. When she returned, the phone was gone. It will cost $750 to replace.

A report of three suspicious men wearing jeans and hoodies, smoking cigarettes, and loitering by a stop sign on Jermain Avenue near Pierson High School triggered a visit by police. The men in question, it turned out, were part of the night crew employed by the school, and were relaxing before starting work.
