Police Charge Pills and Pot

April 25, 2019

A Brooklyn woman was arrested on a drug-related charge during a traffic stop in Montauk at 1:45 a.m. last Thursday. Juliana Purcell Sheehan, 31, was in possession of Adderall and marijuana, East Hampton Town police said.

Police reported finding five capsule pills, later identified as amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, also known as Adderall, as well as a small amount of marijuana, in an open backpack in the back of her 2014 Subaru. Police did not say why she was initially pulled over on South Euclid Avenue, near South Embassy Street, at 1:20 a.m.

Police said they found the pills in an unmarked prescription pill bottle, and, in the backpack, a clear plastic bag with a green leafy substance and a clear glass jar containing two burned cigarettes with the same substance. Ms. Sheehan was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and two violations: possession of a controlled substance in a nonoriginal container and unlawful possession of marijuana. She was released after posting $100 bail, and is due in East Hampton Town Justice Court for arraignment on May 9.
