Houdini Had No Escape

Thu, 05/23/2019 - 06:37

A 66-year-old man from Philadelphia was ticketed after police found a dog named Houdini locked inside a car in Sag Harbor Village on Friday afternoon.

According to a village police report, the windows of a Subaru parked on Meadow Street were not open enough for adequate ventilation. An officer, seeing that a dog “was panting and appeared to be in distress,” was able to reach the vehicle’s locking mechanism and open the door.

Jonathan P. Friedan was cited for confinement of a companion animal in a vehicle in extreme temperature. He is to appear in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 15.
