Thu, 05/23/2019 - 06:37

The driver of a 2010 Isuzu delivery truck ignored a clearance sign at the train trestle on Accabonac Road, near Hook Mill Lane in East Hampton, and hit it on Aug. 30 at about 1:20 p.m. East Hampton Village police charged Kevin Reinosoperez of East Hampton, 19, with exceeding bridge capacity clearance. No injuries were reported.

A single-car accident occurred on the afternoon of Sept. 6 at the intersection of Roberts and Fieldview Lanes at around 1:20 p.m. when Ryan Nicholas Albano of East Hampton, 17, lost control of the 2000 Jeep he was driving. It rolled over and off the roadway, striking a street sign and a tree. The teenager told East Hampton Town police he thought his rear tires became locked as he was heading east on Roberts Lane, causing him to swerve and lose control. He also said he may have been driving too fast for the wet pavement conditions. No injuries were reported.

Three deer-vehicle collisions also were reported last week. Last Thursday at around 6:30 p.m., the driver of a 2012 Dodge, Michael J. Delprecio of Montauk, 42, was heading east on Montauk Highway near Seaside Avenue when a deer ran in front of his car and collided with it, causing front damage. East Hampton Town police investigated

On Saturday at 12:05 a.m., the driver of a 2012 BMW, Joseph W. Labrozzi of Sag Harbor, 50, was southbound on Springs Fireplace Road near Woodbine Drive in Springs when he struck a deer, causing damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

Later that day, at 7:30 p.m., Max E. Scott of East Hampton, 70, reported that a deer collided with the passenger side of his vehicle causing damage to the bumper and a cracked windshield. No human injuries were reported in any of the collisions with deer.
