Paid Notice: New York Times best selling author and long-time Amagansett resident, Vincent Lardo, passed away on December 24th, after a long illness.

Born in 1931 in the Bronx, New York, Lardo served in the Army during the Korean War. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University under the G.I. Bill, attaining a degree in English Literature.

He tried his hand in banking and public relations, before settling in the advertising world. Working with the newly developed word processor, Lardo would spend lunch hours cranking out novels. Finding some success writing in the LGBTQ genre in the ’80s, he found positive results with his two Hamptons based mainstream books,The Hampton Affair (1999) and The Hampton Connection (2001). He also wrote a regular column in The Advocate, under the pen name Julian Mark. In 1998, following the death of novelist Lawrence Sanders, Lardo was offered the opportunity to continue the popular Sanders’ Archy McNally mystery series.

Six of Lardo’s McNally novels reached The New York Times Best Seller list. Mr. Lardo was very active for many years with Marijane Meaker’s Ashawagh Hall Writers Group, helping many novice writers turn their dreams into books. He was predeceased by his partner, Bob Evans, his sisters Rose and Gina, and is survived by his nephews Richard, Robert, Anthony, and niece Ann.

In Real Estate Now, It’s All About Lifestyle

The name of the game in real estate marketing has always been print, signage, and Main Street storefronts showcasing the latest listings. While East Hampton Village still has about a dozen storefronts where potential buyers can swoon over photographs of what’s for sale, the marketing is shifting.
