Jan. 23, 1927-Jan. 30, 2020

Janet Dallio of Springs, a former nursing supervisor at Hackensack Medical Center in New Jersey, died of cardiovascular disease last Thursday at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. She was 93.

Ms. Dallio enjoyed visiting old-fashioned confectionery stores, going to the beach, skiing, cooking, traveling, playing bridge, and having a glass of wine with friends. She was a supporter of the Nature Conservancy and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Born on Jan. 23, 1927, in Hackensack to Alexander Blake and the former Jean Robertson, she grew up in Lodi, N.J., and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

In 1968, she married Dr. Salvatore V. Dallio, who died in 2001.

She is survived by a son, Bernard Dallio of Middletown, N.Y., three grandchildren, Teresa Ferguson, Jason Dallio, and Janine Dallio, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A grandson, Brian Dallio, died before her, as did two siblings, Isabel Paisley and Norman Blake.

The family received visitors on Sunday at the O’Connell-Rothwell Funeral Home in Southampton, with a prayer service led by the Rev. Sarah Bigwood following. A burial service was held yesterday at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in East Hampton.
