Guilty Pleas to Felonies

Two local men charged with felonies pleaded guilty recently in county court in Riverside.

Kody J. Knudsen of Springs, 26, was arrested on July 21 after crashing a 2009 Mercedes-Benz into a utility pole on the Napeague stretch. He was also charged at the time with felony weapons possession, but the grand jury that indicted him dropped that charge.

On Tuesday, he admitted to driving while intoxicated and under the influence of drugs.

Over Three Times Legal Limit

East Hampton Town police made four arrests this past week on drunken-driving charges, two of which, though still misdemeanors, were at an elevated level.

The first was that of Pia G. Bazzani, 33, early last Thursday morning. Ms. Bazzani’s 2010 Toyota was pulled over on Three Mile Harbor Road near Boat Yard Drive in East Hampton; police said she had been speeding and swerving across lane lines.

Ryan Smith told police he will provide the serial numbers of the missing items.

A white Apple iPhone 6 was stolen from the locker of a 14-year-old East Hampton High School student on Oct. 8.

Fined for Selling Summer Shares

Two people who rented houses in Montauk for the summer and then sold shares in them in violation of the East Hampton Town Code were slapped with substantial fines in zoning court last week.

Kimberly Giese of New York City, 46, was accused of selling three-day-weekend shares in a house at 16 Gates Avenue, through Craigslist and Airbnb. She was charged after a code enforcement officer posing as a prospective renter responded to the Craigslist ad in April, saying she was 35, worked in the financial industry, and was interested in several weekend shares.
