This summer, lifeguards are setting an example for the community by wearing masks and ensuring that no crowds gather. This means they have to keep their eyes glued to the water — and also scan the beaches for any large groups. One reporter's story.

The theme of last weekend's high school graduation celebrations was pomp and strange circumstances, as the senior class of 2020 again did what it has had to do for the last four months — adapt.

Because of Covid-19 they all had to cover their faces, and many had to cover their heads from pouring rain. Traditions felt a little bit different, but then there were things that didn't change, like the decoration of graduation caps and the receipt of diplomas.

A preliminary design for a more complete space shows a passive park with a looping trail, benches, a small, simple shelter, and a dogwood tree planted for the late Rick Del Mastro.

Ronald Ralph Galione of East Hampton, a former senior vice president of the Alexander Proudfoot management consulting firm, died of pneumonia on June 11 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in Florida. He was 89.
