Meet the Animals
At the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton, the Young Birders Club, for kids 8 to 18, meets on Saturday at 10 a.m. On Sunday, children 6 to 8 can get an up-close introduction to the museum’s reptiles and amphibians in a program at 10:30 a.m.

Clam Contest Date Is Set
Fresh from their appearance at the Fisherman’s Fair on Saturday on the grounds of Ashawagh Hall in Springs, the East Hampton Town Trustees have set Oct. 13 as the date of their annual Largest Clam Contest.
Robert E. Wilson III
Robert Edmund Wilson III, a professional sailor and yacht broker, died of heart failure and complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder at his home in Beaufort, N.C., on July 21. The former Amagansett resident, who was 73, had been ill for three years.
