To Renovate Village Hall
Proposals to renovate the historical Beecher-Hand House, which now serves as East Hampton Village Hall, and to redesign the parking lot at Chase Bank on Main Street were discussed at the village board meeting last Thursday.
Wind Farm Settlement Meeting Postponed
Tuesday’s meeting to begin negotiations on a settlement between the developers of the proposed South Fork Wind Farm and the New York State Public Service Commission was canceled after East Hampton Town and state officials objected to its location and to what an attorney representing the town said was unreasonably short notice.
No Licenses, No Interlocks
East Hampton Town police arrested three men in recent days, two after accidents, on charges of driving without valid licenses or court-ordered ignition interlock devices, which test for the presence of alcohol on a driver’s breath before the engine will turn over.
Skirmish in ‘Ongoing Dispute’
A high-end local developer and builder was charged with misdemeanor assault Friday night after kneeing the founder of a major South Fork real estate brokerage in the thigh during an argument at the East Hampton Grill on North Main Street in the village.
