It's not too late to sign up for Bay Street Theater's wine tasting benefit in partnership with Wolffer Estate Vineyard on Feb. 24. The deadline has been extended to Wednesday.

East Hampton Village's nonresident beach permits for the 2021 summer season will go on sale at midnight on Monday, and because Village Hall is closed to the public due to the pandemic, they can only be purchased online, by mail, or with the use of a drop box at the back door of Village Hall.

East Hampton Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc will hold a hearing on the petition for the incorporation of Wainscott on Friday, Feb. 5. Signed by more than 200 people, the petition is the first step toward the creation of a new village of Wainscott. If it is deemed legally sufficient, the question of incorporation will be put to a vote by residents of the proposed village.

The 91st Montauk Christmas Bird Count, held on Dec. 19, tallied 129 species, the second-highest total over the last 10 years, with the highlight of the day the sighting of a wood thrush, the first in count record.
