He had been a board member and treasurer of the East Hampton Library, trustee and chairman of the Village Preservation Society of East Hampton, and a founder of the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation who served as its chairman from 2002 to 2023 and was instrumental in the establishment of the East Hampton Healthcare Center, the Urgent Care Center, and the Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department.
