Free Health Fair on Friday

The East Hampton Healthcare Foundation will sponsor a free community health fair Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hoie Hall meeting room at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Hampton Village.

Flu shots, glucose examinations, blood pressure screenings, and applications for colorectal screenings will be offered, along with appointments for no-cost mammogram and Pap smear tests for uninsured women over the age of 40.

Representatives and information from health insurance organizations, Sun River Health Care, OLA of Eastern Long Island, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (for food stamp information and applications), Meals on Wheels, and the town’s Human Services Department will be on hand, as will mental health resources for children and adolescents via Youth Enrichment Services Community Mental Health and Support.

Refreshments will be served, and all have been invited to attend. Those seeking additional information have been asked to call 631-329-2425.

Donations Sought for Jamaica

Alayah Hewie, the owner of the Hamptons-based Jamaican patty company Rena’s Dream Patties, has organized a Container of Love Drop-Off Day to collect donations for Jamaica hurricane relief from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Green Thumb Organic Farm Stand in Water Mill.
