Celebrating Black Culture at LTV

Celebrating Black Culture on the East End, a fund-raiser to launch the Global Black Women's Chamber of Commerce, will take place Friday from 7 to 11 p.m. at LTV Studios in Wainscott. Ambassador Sujay, Crystal Brown, and Maria DeLongoria will host and will be part of the filming of Ms. Sujay's LTV series "Live With Sujay."

Members of historically Black beachfront communities will be interviewed, among them Carl Webber, Virginia Arrington, Clo Stenson, Pam DeLongoria, Paula Taylor, Georgette Grier-Key, Noel Hankin, Beverly Granger, Andrea Cottman, and Danielle Leggard.

Dancing to a set by D.J. Master will conclude the evening. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.

Item of the Week: The A.O. Jones Hardware Store

This photograph from the C. Frank Dayton Photo Collection at the East Hampton Library shows the A.O. Jones Hardware Store at 51 Newtown Lane. Owned by Asa O. Jones (1857-1953), it later became East End Hardware and today is A.L.C., a clothing store.

Clark Is Out and Gladstone Is in at LTV

In a surprise announcement on Monday, LTV, which operates East Hampton Town’s public access channel, announced that Michael Clark, its executive director since October 2019, has resigned. Jonathan Olken, chairman of LTV’s board of directors, has also resigned, and Ellen Watson, LTV’s longtime operations manager, is soon to retire.
