Last year's East Hampton Town recycling center permits officially expired on Friday, meaning it's time for "self-hauler" residents to renew.

Primary permits cost $115, or $55 for seniors. A second permit can be purchased for $40. Permits are valid from April 1 to March 31 each year.

To purchase new permits, residents should take proof of their addresses — including a car registration, property tax receipt, a voter ID card plus car registration, or a signed lease plus car registration — to either the town clerk's main office at Town Hall, its annex at the Montauk Community Playhouse, or the main office at the East Hampton Recycling Center on Springs-Fireplace Road.

Permits can also be purchased by mail, with a printable application form available online at this link.
