Attention kayakers: The East Hampton Town Trustees are accepting applications for their 2023 kayak-rack lottery. Their racks will accommodate a total of 200 kayaks in six bayside locations.

The inner-harbor side of Louse Point offers 56 spots for kayaks, while the Gardiner's Bay side has 16 spots. The inner-harbor side at Gerard Drive accommodates 40 kayaks and Hand's Creek Road at Settler's Landing accommodates 56. At Mile Hill Road there are 24 spaces, and at Fresh Pond there are eight.

Those who want to enter the lottery must send an email to the trustees by March 14 with "Kayak Lottery" in the subject line. The email address is [email protected]. The message should include name, a street address, a mailing address, an email address, a phone number, and the desired kayak rack location. Residents can only enter the lottery for one location.

Names will be drawn on March 15. The winners will be notified by email and will need to complete paperwork requiring proof of East Hampton Town residency, a photo of the kayak, and other information. The cost to rent a kayak rack spot is $250 for the season, running April 15 through Nov. 15. More information is online at the trustees' website.

This story has been updated to reflect the new kayak fee enacted by the trustees after it was published.
