Meet the Bridgehampton Fire Department

Fri, 10/20/2023 - 11:15
Christine Sampson

The Bridgehampton Fire Department will hold an open house and barbecue on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its School Street headquarters. The public can tour the firehouse, meet the crews who help put out fires and save lives, and see all the trucks they use.

Adding to the excitement, at 11:30, weather permitting, a Suffolk County Police medevac helicopter will land and the pilots and paramedics will talk about it. Members of the department will offer firefighting demonstrations and instruction in hands-only CPR, and Southampton Town Marine Patrol officers will answer hunting and boating questions. A representative from the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office will offer Safe Child ID cards.

If all this inspires visitors to become firefighters, ambulance drivers, or emergency medical technicians, members of the department will let them know how to go about that.
