Community members who are following the $13.5 million redevelopment plans for Sag Harbor's Mashashimuet Park have two chances this week to learn more and weigh in on the renovations and upgrades.

On Monday, the Sag Harbor School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. with a Mashashimuet Park legal notice amendment on the agenda. The board, which will meet both in-person at Pierson Middle and High School and virtually, via Zoom, entertains public comments at the beginning and end of its meetings.

The Noyac Civic Council is also set to discuss the plan at its next meeting on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Old Noyac Schoolhouse, 2986-3024 Noyac Road.

And for those who want to learn more about the park and its past, a historical exhibit is on display at the Sag Harbor Historical Society's Annie Cooper Boyd House on Main Street through October. The viewing hours are weekends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and by appointment at 631-725-5092.

Since then, a “hometown side project” has developed into Circuit, an all-electric, on-demand “micro-transit” solution in more than 40 cities and towns.

Sag Harbor Rejects Proposed Tree Settlement

The case of Augusta Ramsay Folks, an 81-year-old accused of cutting down two trees on Meadowlark Lane in Sag Harbor in June of last year — in violation of the village’s new tree-protection law — was back in court on July 8, when a settlement proposed by Ms. Folks was rejected by the village and then withdrawn by her attorney.
