By Sunday afternoon, as conditions on many roads remained difficult to navigate across the South Fork, schools announced closures, delayed openings, or remote-learning days for Monday.

The East Hampton School District will be closed. "Roads will freeze overnight and create a dangerous situation tomorrow morning," Adam Fine, the district superintendent, said by email on Sunday.

The Ross School will be closed, as will the Amagansett School and the Springs School.

The Sag Harbor School District will open on a two-hour delay, with weather-related changes to bus stops in place. The district has posted those changes on its website, sagharborschools.org. The Bridgehampton School and the Sagaponack School will also have delayed openings.

The Montauk School, which was the only local public school district to use a snow day about three weeks ago, will operate on an "odd day" virtual schedule.

Information for the Wainscott School was not immediately available.
