Effort to Bring Back Boy Scouting in Montauk

A community effort to revive Montauk's Boy Scout programs is underway, with a meeting planned for Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7:15 p.m. for interested parents of kids in sixth grade and up.

Justin Raynor, an assistant scout master for Montauk's Troop 136, said in an announcement that scouting "is an all-volunteer organization and is in need of parents to continue the program."

The meeting is at 7:15 p.m. at the Montauk Fire Department headquarters, at 12 Flamingo Road.
