HarborFest Is Canceled

The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce has canceled the village’s annual HarborFest fair, scheduled for Sept. 12 and 13, because of the ongoing pandemic.

"Unfortunately, based on the current situation with required social distancing guidelines, we must follow the lead of other organizations who have canceled their large crowd events," Lisa Field, the chamber's president, said in a statement posted on the organization's website.

The villagewide celebration traditionally features live music, food stations, and myriad activities, including whaleboat races. Ms. Field said the Chamber of Commerce is now exploring whether holding a scaled-down event with just the whaleboat races would be feasible.

"Thank you for your past support, and we look forward to coming back stronger than ever in 2021," she said.
