Florence Fabricant will talk about the new “Ladies Village Improvement Society Cookbook” in a live online event at 5 p.m. on Saturday hosted by BookHampton of East Hampton. L.V.I.S. cookbooks have been a staple in many kitchens here for well more than a century. The latest edition features a foreword by Martha Stewart and recipes arranged around 20 menus. Registration is at bookhampton.com, through which a link to the meeting will be provided. Recipes were contributed by L.V.I.S. members and fine-tuned by Ms. Fabricant. Sample recipes and downloadable cookbooks dating back to 1896 can be found at LVIS.org.

The mystery author John Grisham will be the guest for a “virtual lunch” on Monday at 1 p.m. Roxanne J. Coady, the founder of RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison, Conn., will engage Mr. Grisham about his newest novel, “Camino Winds,” which is available for ordering at BookHampton.

“Ask for More: 10 Questions to Negotiate Anything,” a how-to manual about a critical business skill by Alexandra Carter, will be the focus of an online conversation between the author and Lynn Sherr next Thursday at 5 p.m. Ms. Carter is a clinical professor of law and the director of the Mediation Clinic at Columbia Law School, and Ms. Sherr is a former ABC News broadcaster and the author of several books, including “Swim,” “Outside the Box,” and “America the Beautiful.”
