Rowdy Hall’s wienerschnitzel special is seen here with a tasting flight of three Bavarian beers.

Oktoberfest at Rowdy Hall

If it’s fall it must be Oktoberfest, and if it’s Oktoberfest, then Rowdy Hall must celebrate. The Amagansett eatery has announced two-course prix fixe menus for $38 to be offered in the coming weeks.

From Saturday through next Thursday, the entree will feature wienerschnitzel, braised red cabbage, and Halsey Farm apples, with apple pecan strudel and rum raisin sauce for dessert.

Starting Friday, Sept. 27, the menu will include schweinebraten with herbed spaetzle, followed by Black Forest cheesecake with cherry compote, shaved chocolate, and whipped cream.

The week of Oct. 2 will feature a wurst fest consisting of knockwurst, bratwurst, and bockwurst with German potato salad and spicy beer mustard. An apple almond Bavarian torte with vanilla anglaise will top off the meal.

The restaurant will also offer a Bavarian beer-tasting flight for $16 that includes three 10-ounce pours of Radeberger Pilsner, Hofbrau Munchen Oktoberfestbier, and Von Trapp Dunkel.

The Power of Food

East End Food, a nonprofit committed to strengthening Long Island’s local food system and agricultural future, has announced “The Power of Food,” a fund-raising event that will be held at the Ocean Club Restaurant at the Montauk Yacht Club next Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Guests will be treated to a variety of locally sourced dishes and drinks prepared by Jarad McCarroll, an award-winning chef and restaurateur who has helmed kitchens in London and St. Barth’s.

Proceeds will help fund the completion of the East End Food Hub in Riverhead, equip the shared commercial kitchen, launch its year-round farmers market, expand community outreach, and develop the education space and local food storefront.

General admission tickets, available at eastendfood.org, are $200.

Artists’ Table in Water Mill

The Watermill Center’s Artists’ Table series features presentations by resident artists followed by a locally sourced meal from an East End chef.

The next iteration, set for Sept. 28 at noon, will kick off with Liz Magic Laser, a multimedia video and performance artist from New York City, whose eight-channel video installation, “Exorcise 1 Through 8,” will encourage visitors to become superimposed on the bodies of pulsating practitioners.

The meal will be prepared by Corey De Rosa, who opened Tapovana Healing Center in 2006 and, 15 years later, launched Tapovana Lunch Box, which offers artisan South Indian cuisine and other specialties based on Ayurvedic principles of vibrant health and longevity.

Tickets, available through the Watermill Center’s website, are $135.23.

Wine Dinners on the Rock

The Ram’s Head Inn on Shelter Island will host three-course dinners with wine pairings tonight at 6 and next Thursday at the same time.

Wines from Wilson Daniels, a wine importer and distributor, will be featured tonight, while next Thursday will spotlight wines from Jackson Family Wines of Santa Rosa, Calif., a major wine producer in the United States.

Each meal will begin with a welcome drink and an amuse-bouche, followed by a starter, entree, and dessert. The cost is $125 plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are by email to [email protected].
