For Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day specials abound at local restaurants on Friday, Feb. 14.

Nick and Toni’s in East Hampton will have a four-course prix fixe dinner special with a menu that features entrees such as roast halibut, grilled jumbo prawns, Rohan duck breast, and Wagyu New York strip steak. The cost is $95 per person or $125 with wine pairings, plus tax and tip. The restaurant’s à la carte menu will be available at the bar only.

Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor will offer a four-course prix fixe on Friday, Feb. 14, and Feb. 15. The menu includes a short rib appetizer, and entrees such as Arctic char and rack of lamb. The cost is $85 per person, plus tax and tip.

Almond in Bridgehampton will have a four-course dinner with a blood orange theme. The entrees are duck à l’orange and seared scallops with blood orange miso butter. The cost is $85 per person. The regular menu will also be available.

Lulu Kitchen and Bar in Sag Harbor will offer a four-course prix fixe featuring a choice of two entrees: roast duck breast with duck confit, or slow cooked blood orange chicken with chicken liver mousse. The cost is $85 per person or $110 with wine pairings, plus tax and tip. The à la carte menu will also be available.

Rowdy Hall in East Hampton will have dinner specials including a lobster cocktail appetizer for $18, a red snapper filet entree for $28, and an espresso trifle dessert for $11.

The four-course prix fixe dinner menu at the 1770 House in East Hampton will feature entrees such as Australian rack of lamb, roasted prawns, and Wagyu strip steak. The cost is $85 per person, plus tax and tip.

Coche Comedor in Amagansett will offer a $60 three-course prix fixe featuring a grilled oysters appetizer, a rotisserie rack of lamb entree, and carajillo chocolate pudding for dessert. The dishes will also be available à la carte. The restaurant does not take reservations.

The Maidstone in East Hampton will have an $80 three-course prix fixe menu featuring entrees such as herb-crusted lamb loin, scallops quenelles, and a surf and turf dish of petite filet and a six-ounce lobster tail.

Claude’s at the Southampton Inn will have a three-course prix fixe menu and a complimentary glass of rosé prosecco for $35, not including tax and tip. The entrees include steak Barolo, chicken Provencal, and flounder in phyllo.  

Wine Classes

A class on Australian and New Zealand wines will be held at 5:30 this afternoon at Park Place Wines and Liquors in East Hampton. The cost is $10. The class was full as of last weekend, but the shop is taking names on a waiting list.

Looking ahead, the shop’s sommeliers will introduce people to “under the radar” wines and staff favorites, and also offer an overview of “wine industry trends” in a $10 class on Feb. 15 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. On Feb. 27, Park Place plans a class on the wines of Germany, Austria, and the Alsace region.

Quail Hill Announces Summer C.S.A.

Summer shares are now available from Quail Hill Farm, one of the country's original community-supported agriculture farms. Family shares, for households of two or more people, and single-person shares as well, run from early June through Halloween, with picking two days a week, including unlimited flowers.
