Rowdy Hall in East Hampton will have lunch specials on Tuesday and Wednesday. A crab omelet for $16 and a salted caramel tart for $12 are available both days. On Tuesday, creamy potato leek soup is $12, and a steak sandwich with onions, melted Gruyere, and a side of French fries is $18. On Wednesday (New Year’s Day) “hair of the dog soup” made with cheddar cheese and Montauk Brewing Company’s Driftwood Ale is $12, and eggs Benedict with a field green salad is $18.

Blutstein at Beard House

Jeremy Blutstein, the executive chef at Showfish in Gurney’s Star Island Resort in Montauk will be preparing a seafood-centric dinner featuring East End produce at the James Beard House in New York on Jan. 16. The menu will include dishes such as squid ink risotto with bonito, fennel pollen, and cured duck yolk, and oysters with fermented Meyer lemon kosho, sesame, and winter truffles. The cost is $180, including alcoholic beverages. Tickets are available on the James Beard Foundation’s website.

A Chowder Extravaganza for Springs Food Pantry

The Springs Food Pantry’s annual Chowdah Chowdown fund-raiser will return to the Springs Tavern and Grill on Saturday afternoon with all-you-can-eat chowder and soup from local chefs, live music by Josh Brussell, a mocktail bar, and a 50-50 raffle with a cash prize.

Beach Hut to Stay on Main

East Hampton Village announced this week that the current occupant of the village-owned concession at the Main Beach pavilion, Susan Seekamp’s Beach Hut on Main, won the bid to continue operating for five more years.
