Summer Visitors

The Brooklyn Chop House, an Asian-influenced steak house with a flagship in New York’s financial district, will open a summer outpost at the Capri Hotel in Southampton Friday. The restaurant will offer breakfast and lunch daily, and dinner Wednesday through Sunday (Tuesday night service will be added in July). The dinner menu features entrees such as crispy beef for $35, beef and broccoli for $32, kung pao chicken for $30, Peking duck for $78, and garlic and ginger lobster for two people for $148.

The Highway Restaurant and Bar will share its space with Shuko Beach, a pop-up Japanese restaurant, on Friday and Saturday evenings this summer starting June 7 (Thursday night service will be added on June 27). An offshoot of Manhattan’s Shuko restaurant, the pop-up will operate a six-seat chef’s counter offering an omakase menu, a selection of 15 pieces of sushi chosen by the chef. The cost is $200 per person, and comes with granita for dessert. There will be three nightly seatings, at 6, 7:30, and 9. À la carte handrolls and other items will also be available to diners at the bar, in the dining room, and on the outdoor patio.

Balsam Produce

The Balsam Farms stand on Town Lane in Amagansett is open for the season, and memberships in the farm’s community supported agriculture program are still available. The C.S.A. system works by having members pay an up-front fee to cover the cost of planting and harvesting in return for receiving a weekly share of farmer-selected produce. Memberships range from 15 weeks (from May 23 to Aug. 29) for $500, to 27 weeks (May 23 to Nov. 21) for $890. Shares are picked up at the farm stand on Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m., or on Fridays or Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. Discounted gift cards are also available through Memorial Day. Starting Friday, the farm will offer delivery of produce to all customers between Southampton and Montauk. The cost is $20, and requires a minimum order of $150.

Also on the Menu

The Bridgehampton Inn and Restaurant is now open for dinner nightly, and will offer a $24.95 “blue plate special” each week through June. There will also be live music every Monday and Friday, as well as on occasional Thursdays.

A Chowder Extravaganza for Springs Food Pantry

The Springs Food Pantry’s annual Chowdah Chowdown fund-raiser will return to the Springs Tavern and Grill on Saturday afternoon with all-you-can-eat chowder and soup from local chefs, live music by Josh Brussell, a mocktail bar, and a 50-50 raffle with a cash prize.
